Introducing... The Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo Messy Bootcamp Scholarship for trans and non-binary people of colour!!!
Getting more people through first drafts and rewrites than ever before 💌
We are delighted to be able to offer 5 free spots to trans and non-binary people of colour on our next Writual; Bootcamp Edition, with a focus on non-binary people, thanks to the support of the amazing Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo.
Unati came along to one of our parties last year and has been a key part of the Messy community ever since!Â
They have taken part in both Bootcamps so far, had their work selected for our Bootcamp Live Read (and even performed!) ~ and we are honoured that they want to so generously share the experience with other writers.
We should also say CONGRATULATIONS to Unati who has just been announced as a season regular on Wednesday on Netflix. We think that supporting other creatives is a great way to celebrate!
What is this BOOTCAMP then?
Writual; Bootcamp Edition III is an 8 week online programme that guides writers through the process of a first draft or a rewrite, with the help of our community and accountability programme.
It’s a great way to get those pages out if you have a deadline or just want to focus, and it’s also a great way to make new friends who share the same hopes and dreams as you.
We’ve had over 120 writers come through Bootcamp so far, many have come back for a second or third time, and people (like Unati!) find it a really useful way to commit to their draft.
To apply:
If you’re a trans or non-binary person of colour and you’d like to apply for this scholarship for a full bursary on WRITUAL; BOOTCAMP EDITION III ~ please fill in the following short form about your writing so far and the project you'd like to work on during Bootcamp by midnight on Sunday May 19th.
Successful applicants will be notified by 11am on Monday May 20th, in time for the kick-off Zoom call on Monday May 20th at 7:30pm.Â
And you can follow Unati on Instagram here.
Nothing else to say other than we are really honoured that Unati came to us to suggest this and we LOVE our community.
Hopefully see lots of you at our party next Friday?
